It's been nearly two years since the pandemic upended everyone worldwide, and it feels like it's been quite a bit longer. Looking at the latest variant, we're not anywhere near finished, either.
I've been one of the lucky ones. I haven't had the coronavirus, despite living in a major urban area. I did get vaccinated as soon as I was eligible, and I'm planning on getting my booster shot before year's end. Financially, things have been stable. So why the fog?
My older child has Type 1 diabetes. My younger child is autistic. The corgi has epilepsy. The spouse and I are thankfully in good health overall, but as parents, we fret. A lot. Anxiety, it seems, makes for a terrible muse.
So, instead of writing, I've been reading. And that has been a lifeline in ways I didn't expect. I've read some great things, and I've read some awful things. I actually wrote off one book as a Did-Not-Finish, which is something I very rarely do. But reading has reminded me how much I love writing, and how much I've missed it.
Hence this new website. Welcome to anyone reading, and stay tuned for more!
